About the Gallery 

Rivington Arms is an art gallery located in New York City's Lower East Side. Melissa Bent and Mirabelle Marden, who met at Sarah Lawrence College, opened Rivington Arms in January of 2002 with the purpose of creating a gallery space for young emerging artists without any limitations on what could be shown or how it could be exhibited. They chose a storefront on Rivington street because they believed the area to be a burgeoning art destination. Over the past three years the gallery has shown a variety of artists working in all mediums, and will continue expanding, working with new artists, and growing with the artists who are a part of the Rivington Arms family.
